I love to draw dragon-like creatures for spiritual reasons. And while I like to draw all day, I also put challenges or a learning opportunity before me while doing so. I strive to make a learning and growing experience when I create illustrations.
I've always appreciated polytheism. Within it, humanoid and/or anthropomorphic animals are associated with a persona of humanity. I find this similar to the modern (or Asian) dragons that often embody a physical element and sometimes accompanied by a color (red is fire, blue is water, etc).
I wanted to not only create an elemental dragon series, but to take it a step further: to communicate basic and abstract elements of our reality portrayed in dragon deity form, with an art nouveau look.
For me this series has pushed the meaning of my personal relationship with dragons as well as the modern idea of the elemental dragon. I have had the opportunity to learn more about the physics of light, color theory, and cosmology.
